Dental Emergencies
For the treatment of dental emergencies including conditions such as acute swelling, active bleeding, severe uncontrollable pain or trauma during after duty hours, call the Nurse Advice Line at (580) 213-7416.
Dental Readiness
Periodic dental examinations are scheduled for active duty personnel through the Dental Clinic Air Force Dental Readiness Assurance Program monitor. Follow-up appointments are made at the time of the periodic dental examination appointment or by calling the Dental Clinic.
Guard and Reserve Members - Guard and Reserve personnel may call to schedule an appointment for their periodic dental exams, but must be on orders for 30 days or more to schedule dental treatment.
Specialty Care
The types of procedures performed at the Dental Clinic include those that fall within the scope of comprehensive dental care and limited specialty care. Outsourcing to civilian dental providers and specialists may be utilized for active duty personnel if treatment is deemed necessary but cannot be provided by the dental clinic as determined by the examining dentist. The dental clinic must generate a referral for active duty members to seek civilian dental care.
Care for Dependents
Dental care for dependents / family members is available through the
TRICARE Dental Program or FEDVIP. Dependent dental care must be coordinated through local civilian providers, a list of whom can be found at the linked
website. Dental care for non-active duty personnel may be provided at the Vance Dental Clinic on a case-by-case basis.
